How my school became well-known in a day
This is weird and happened yesterday. People allover the state heard about Calicut Islamic Residential School, where I have been studying. It was a phone call warning about bomb in the school that made all this happen. Early morning, some unknown guy telephoned to a telephone booth near the school warning about a bomb that was planted inside the school. Police and news reports started to flow to the institution and the news was cast in almost every channel in Kerala. In detailed search, no explosives were detected and principal declared holiday.
As I couldn’t go to school because of fever, I saw the video in TV from home. It showed the school buildings and teachers consoling frightened parents. The school ground was filled with people who probably had come to see the bomb blast’.
Our school was an unpopular one which was situated on a hilltop, but within one hour, people started to talk about the school. Phone call warnings like this are not rare in our state and most of them are fakes. Actually I haven’t heard of an explosion in a school after a warning call inside our state (Kerala). It was actually the continuous bomb blast that occurred in a neighboring state (Karnataka) recently, that gave the phone call this much seriousness. People in the state was already warned by officials about explosions and Chief Minister decided to take these warnings seriously.
Police haven’t found the caller yet. Was it someone from the school who wanted a holiday who did this? Or a terrorist or someone else? I don’t know.
I am happy; I am now studying in a ‘well-known school’.
